14th March 2004
Windsurfing: Avon beach
Wind Direction: S
Wind Stength: 25 knots+
Surf / Sea State: Confused chop/swell
Air Temperature: 10
Sea Temperature: Proper badgers.
Weather: Rain
Max Speed:
Distance Covered:

First decent S-SW wind in ages so just had to get out despite lots of work to do. Got up early for a morning session so I could get back to work in the afternoon. Martin and co. were "race training" in Poole so didn't meet up with them unfortunately, but loads of people out, car park was rammed when I left at 1pm.

Very rusty and un-fit from not having sailed for 5 weeks so not a very satisfying session. Also conditions were difficult, confused water state and no proper waves. And bloody cold water plus painful horizontal rain at times. Wasn't pulling off any gybes or decent jumps, and got spanked on several occasions. Starting to not like Avon so much; water state always seems to be really confused and difficult. Much prefer Hayling Island, will go there next time.

Despite poor performance, great to get out in decent wind and take my mind off the work situation.
